We immersed into the Visual Arts scene of South East Queensland by teaming up with BIGSOUND Festival and spectacularly changed the streetscape and aesthetic of the Fortitude Valley precinct in a way you have never seen before!
Immerse events director Jonny Ruddy worked in-house with the festival to develop a Visual Arts concept that helped bring 10 emerging artists up to speed on best-practice in festival production design, site-specific design, and materials and construction.
We assisted to create a pathway for the selected artists by overseeing their concepts and budgets and linking them up with the best suppliers to deliver their creation. We also brought in some gun site crew who were inflatable specialists and Mister fixits.
Our team oversaw the festival design budget, staffing, secured council and private locations for projection mapping, building lighting and installation art.
We made huge inflatable tentacles, venue identifiers, light boxes, a 5m tall stained glass entry arch, very large glitter bunting, floor decals as way finders and secured over 10 vacant buildings to enable window projection mapping and poster paste ups that helped unite and beautify the Fortitude Valley precinct.
It’s no coincidence that BIGSOUND ticket sales increased by 33%. The Installations captured new festival attendees attention by showcasing the artists creations in the public domain.
The festival has helped expand our creative contacts and link up with some of the most passionate visual artists in Australia.
